All classes are structured according to the development of the children. The Children are made aware that all activities are FUN.
At the start of each class, the coach will give a small talk on healthy living and eating.
The Children will be made aware of their heart and major muscles. Each session is delivered with an enthusiastic coach who
will have their own equipment if needed. Each class will be delivered with music which is a fantastic mood enhancer.
All children will be encouraged to take part in the class, and all exercise's will be broken down for each child's ability.
Benefits of Increased Physical Activity Increasing children's activity levels will have a significant effect not only in helping them
to avoid gaining weight, but also improving general health, increasing energy levels, and introducing new opportunities for fun
and socialising. Benefits of regular physical activity for children include:
Physiological Benefits
-
Reduction in overweight and obesity when combined with appropriate dietary modification
leading to favourable improvements in body composition.
-
Beneficial effects on chronic disease risk factors such as the profile of blood
lipids and blood pressure.
-
Weight bearing and strength-enhancing physical activity can improve the skeletal
health in young people (Hitting peak bone mass maturity is essential for healthy bones in later life).

Improvement in the ability to perform basic motor skills and sport skills. Alongside improved
development of co-ordination, balance and flexibility.

-
Promoting physical activity among young people can help to establish active lifestyles that
can be maintained into adult life
Motivating children to be active
If children understand what happens to their bodies when they exercise, and why
it happens this will help them to value exercise and to appreciate its place in a healthy and active lifestyle.
The important messages that we Funcise need to communicate are:
-
Exercise can be enjoyable and fun - you just need to find the kind that suits you.
-
Exercise is for all - everyone needs it and being sedentary is dangerous.
-
Everyone can benefit from exercise.
-
Everyone can be good at exercise.
-
Exercise is for life.
FUN and Enjoyment Children like to have fun in physical activity. If children and young people enjoy a
particular activity then they are more likely to want to take part and be active.
The ideal situation is if they can build a lasting hobby out of it, whereby they continue loving the physical activity for life. Funcise overall aim is to make physical activity a better experience for more young
people/adults more of the time and so increase participation rates.
Funcise promotes activity that is FUN, which leads to achievement, promotes self worth and makes children/ adults feel good. To ensure that children enjoy physical activity it is important to be inventive and have
plenty of variety within activity sessions. Some children will take part because they want
to learn new skills. This may involve learning difficult skills, becoming better at skills they already know or being able to do
something that they perceived they could not do.
Some children will simply take part in physical activity to socialise.
They may enjoy spending time with school friends in a different setting, or meeting up with friends that they only socialise
with during a certain physical activity. Even if socialising is not the main focus, many children enjoy the social interactions
in taking part in physical activities with their friends. Increase family
participation in exercise Supportive and encouraging families can assist
children in taking part in physical activities. Children have reported that they enjoy taking part in physical
activity with their parents and family.
The importance of parental enthusiasm and parent's own participation in exercise and physical activity is an influential factor
in getting children more active.
The aim should be to encourage all members of the family to become habitually more active, and in particular that the child
receives adequate support, motivation and encouragement to aspire to the minimum levels of recommended of activity each day.
Parent's participation and the provision of practical support from parents
appear to be one of the most effective motivators for encouraging children's participation in physical activity.
Children enjoy taking part in activities with members of their families.
A supportive, encouraging and inspiring family helps children take part in organised or structured physical activities,
and being active is more likely to become the norm.
Funcise have done all the above by delivering 'Parent and Children Classes',
'All Girls Programme' and 'All Boys Programme'
